## Synopsis

Cougar Town (2009-2015) is a American sitcom created by Bill Lawrence and Kevin Biegel for ABC and later TBS. Courteney Cox plays Jules Cobb, a divorced mom in her forties navigating dating, parenting and friendship in a Florida beach neighborhood, alongside Christa Miller as her sardonic friend Ellie Torres, Busy Philipps as the outspoken Laurie Keller, and Dan Byrd as her teenage son Travis. Her ex-husband Bobby Cobb (Brian Van Holt) and her neighbor Grayson Ellis (Josh Hopkins) add romantic complications to the mix. The engine of the show is the daily friction of rebuilding a social life after divorce, with each episode built from awkward dates, backyard wine nights, and the messy give and take of a household that keeps redefining itself. Running six seasons and over one hundred episodes, it is a multi-camera-free single camera comedy with a loose, serialized romantic arc. The tone is breezy and warm, with wine fueled banter and affectionate absurdity. Fans of Friends, Parks and Recreation and Scrubs will find resonance in its ensemble warmth and its lighthearted take on adult friendship.
