## Synopsis

Hitler and the Nazis: Evil on Trial (2024) is a American documentary history docuseries created for Netflix, presented as a six-episode limited series. Narrated by William L. Shirer (archive voice) with testimony and dramatized reconstructions featuring actors such as Károly Kozma as Adolf Hitler, Imre Csók as Erich von Manstein, and Balázs Kató as William Shirer, the series follows the engine of its subject: how a movement gained power, how it ruled, and how its crimes were eventually confronted. Each episode is built from archival footage, documents and interview-style accounts, moving chronologically from pre-war politics through the wartime machinery of persecution to the courtroom at Nuremberg. Set across 1930s and 1940s Germany and occupied Europe, it foregrounds the rise and rule of the regime, the Holocaust, and the question of accountability. The tone is sober, grave and forensic, with an insistent weight on evidence and the cost of looking away. Viewers who appreciate The World at War and serious archival war history will find the same authority and gravity here, with a clear focus on how a nation's crimes were examined and judged.
