## Synopsis

Black Lagoon: Roberta's Blood Trail (2010-2011) is a Japanese anime crime miniseries created by Rei Hiroe and produced by Madhouse. Set in the lawless port city of Roanapur, it follows Roberta, a devoted maid and skilled guerilla soldier serving the Venezuelan Lovelace family, who returns to the city after her superior is assassinated by the US Secret Service, determined to take the killer's head. Young Fernando Garcia Lovelace, the new heir to his family's estate, tails her to Thailand with his bodyguard Fabiola Iglesias, and he enlists the mercenary Lagoon Company to turn her back from her warpath. The voice cast includes Megumi Toyoguchi as Revy, Daisuke Namikawa as Rock, Tsutomu Isobe as Dutch and Hiroaki Hirata as Benny. Across five episodes of roughly thirty-four minutes each, the story is one continuous chase of escalating bloodshed, shifting alliances between island crime factions and the US military, and tactical planning backed by heavy weaponry. The tone is hardboiled and kinetic, with a cynical edge and a sense of a city where violence is routine. Fans of Black Lagoon, Cowboy Bebop and Sin City will find resonance in its gritty gunplay and morally loose underworld.
