## Synopsis

The Breslau Murders (2025-present) is a Polish historical crime drama series created for Disney+, set in 1930s Breslau, the German city later known as Wroclaw. Commissioner Franz Podolsky (Tomasz Schuchardt) leads an investigation into a brutal murder while the city prepares to host the Olympic Games, so the pressure to catch the killer grows by the day. Podolsky is joined by principal figures including Erwin Benk (Adam Bobik) and his wife Lena Podolsky (Sandra Drzymalska), with Johan Holtz (Ireneusz Czop) and Gerda Holtz (Agata Kulesza) adding layers of suspicion and personal stakes. The engine of the series is a cat and mouse hunt through alleys, police offices and rooms of unsettled loyalty, where each clue pulls the commissioner deeper into a city bending under the rising Third Reich. The series runs as a continuing serialized story across two seasons, with the first season rated 6.3/10 by audiences. Its tone is tense and atmospheric, with a grim, watchful mood and a sense of dread gathering behind ordinary streets. Fans of Babylon Berlin, Gomorra and Peaky Blinders will find resonance in its period detail, its police procedural grit and its portrait of crime under a looming political catastrophe.
