## Synopsis

Heavenly Ever After (2025) is a South Korean afterlife drama miniseries created by Kim Sok-yun, Lee Nam-kyu and Kim Soo-jin and broadcast on JTBC. The twelve-episode limited series follows a married couple separated by death who reunite in heaven, only to find that he has settled into his thirties while she has arrived in her eighties. Kim Hye-ja plays Lee Hae-sook, and Son Suk-ku plays Ko Nak-joon, with Han Ji-min appearing as Som-i and Lee Jung-eun as Lee Young-ae. The engine of the story is the couple's effort to hold on to one another across an afterlife that runs on rules, waiting centers and administrators, while the gap in their appearances keeps unsettling what they expected of love and aging. Each episode unfolds at a patient, emotional pace, moving between the heavenly bureaucracy and memories of earthly life. The show is built around a single continuing arc rather than standalone cases, and the tone is tender, wistful and quietly funny, with grief and gratitude sitting close together. Viewers who enjoy Ghost, Hotel del Luna and Along with the Gods will find resonance in its blend of romance, folklore and melancholy reflection on mortality.
