## Synopsis

Jackass is a rowdy American reality comedy that turns its cast's own bodies into the punchline. Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Ryan Dunn and their friends design outrageous stunts, pranks and gross-out antics, daring one another and ambushing unsuspecting bystanders with a camera always close behind. Across its short, self-contained segments the engine stays simple: someone dares, someone gets hurt, and the crew escalates until the wreckage is captured on film. There is no continuing story to follow, so the show plays as a stream of loud, sometimes uncomfortable bits that rarely pause for breath. Its mood is irreverent, reckless and gleeful, with a grimy handheld look that borrows the skate and punk subcultures of its era. Much of the pleasure comes from watching friends egg each other on, from the sheer audacity of the bits, and from the bruised, sheepish camaraderie that follows each disaster. Audiences who enjoy Punk'd, The Tom Green Show or Crank Yankers will recognize the same mischievous energy and appetite for public embarrassment. It is raw, adrenaline-driven viewing for anyone who wants comedy that is loud, physical and unfiltered.
