## Synopsis

The Waterfront (2025) is a American crime drama series created by Kevin Williamson for Netflix. Harlan Buckley (Holt McCallany) leads a prominent North Carolina fishing family whose business empire is crumbling, and he wades into treacherous waters to keep it afloat. Bree Buckley (Melissa Benoist) and Cane Buckley (Jake Weary) are caught in the family's desperate schemes, while Shawn Wilson (Rafael L. Silva) and Jenna Tate (Humberly González) move through the danger around them. Mae Buckley (Maria Bello) and Peyton Buckley (Danielle Campbell) anchor the family's emotional stakes. Its single eight-episode season is a serialized story built around the pressure of keeping a legitimate trade standing while illicit money pulls the family deeper into the water. Investigators close in as the Buckleys bend loyalties and risk everything. The tone is tense, gritty and morally murky, with a southern coastal atmosphere that feels humid and dangerous. Fans of Ozark, Bloodline and Outer Banks will find resonance in its portrait of a family dynasty compromised by greed, loyalty and the lure of quick money. Its audience rating of 7.0 suggests a divided but engaged reception.
