## Synopsis

Reborn (2025) is a Chinese youth drama series produced by Xixi Pictures for Tencent Video, a single-season run of twenty-three 45-minute episodes adapted from a web novel. It follows sixteen-year-old Qiao Qingyu, played by Zhang Jingyi, who in 2007 relocates with her family from the small county town of Shunyun to the provincial capital of Huanzhou after painful rumors about her sister's death. Qingyu is determined to restore her family's normal life, so she secretly pursues the truth behind Qiao Beiyu's death with the help of her classmate Ming Sheng, played by Zhou Yiran, a relationship that grows through shared secrets and repeated separations. Supporting roles include Liu Dan as Li Fanghao and Wu You as Qiao Beiyu. The engine of the show is the tension between a family trying to move on and a girl who cannot let go, with each episode layering school pressure, household strain and fragments of the past. The tone is melancholic and intimate, with a slow burn romance threaded through a grief-heavy mystery. Fans of Pretty Little Liars and Big Little Lies will find resonance in its youthful investigation and family anguish, though its emotional register is more restrained and inward.
