## Synopsis

Snakes and Ladders (2025) is a Mexican limited series created by Manolo Caro for Netflix. Teacher protagonist, an ambitious but overlooked educator, wants to become head of a prestigious school and must climb a slippery ladder of lies and corruption to get there. Cecilia Suárez, Juan Pablo Medina, Martiño Rivas, and Marimar Vega lead a principal cast of colleagues, rivals, and people caught in the teacher's web. Each of the eight roughly 38-minute episodes tightens the grip of his schemes, as small deceptions multiply and every rung he reaches brings new compromises and new enemies. The series unfolds as a single continuing story across one season, so the ambitions and fallout accumulate episode by episode. Set in contemporary Mexico, it plays out inside the pressure cooker of an elite school where reputation is currency and ethics are negotiable. The tone is darkly ironic and tense, a sardonic look at how far someone will go when morality is treated as a game. Its blend of satire and thriller momentum will appeal to viewers who enjoy the corporate power plays of Succession and the moral slide of Ozark. Adult viewers will find it a sharp, bingeable portrait of ambition gone wrong.
