## Synopsis

The Boyfriend (2024-present) is a Japanese reality dating series produced by Kyodo Television for Netflix. Across two seasons and twenty-five episodes, a group of men share a single house over the course of a month and run a coffee truck together, using each day's shifts and small shared chores as a way to get to know one another. The engine is simple and sincere: every participant hopes to meet the one partner he is looking for, and the cohabitation puts pressure on that search through daily routines, awkward pairings and the slow build of trust. Hosts MEGUMI, Chiaki Horan, Thelma Aoyama, Durian Lollobrigida and Yoshimi Tokui appear throughout as the on-screen guides for the format. Episodes are episodic in shape, each closing a stretch of the shared month, while the season-long arc carries the question of who will connect. The tone is warm, intimate and hopeful, with a gentle, cozy texture that sets it apart from louder dating competitions. Fans of Love Island, Too Hot to Handle and the romance-forward queer drama Given will find resonance in its blend of romance and everyday life. The show is streamed as a reality series, with a TV-14 rating.
