## Synopsis

Leviathan (2025) is a Japanese anime series created for Netflix, produced by Qubic Pictures and Orange. Set in an alternate steampunk version of the 1910s, it follows Austrian fugitive Prince Aleksandar, voiced by Ayumu Murase, and a Scottish airman in disguise, voiced as Sharp by Natsumi Fujiwara, on an improvised quest to head off a world war. Count Volger, voiced by Shunsuke Sakuya, and the inventor Nikola Tesla, voiced by Hiroki Touchi, add to a cast of allies and rivals who move through a continent of airships, machinery, and shifting loyalties. The engine of the story is the constant pressure of pursuit and the fragile hope that a few determined people can change the course of history. The twelve-episode run is a single, self-contained arc of twenty-five-minute episodes, with each chapter pushing the quest forward. Its tone blends absurd comedy with adventure and moments of wartime dread, with a playful, irreverent streak inside a grand, brass-tinted world. Fans of Arcane, The Legend of Korra, and Vinland Saga will find resonance in its mix of steampunk spectacle, historical stakes, and heroic camaraderie.
