## Synopsis

Gachiakuta (2025) is a Japanese animated shonen action series produced by BONES and Kodansha, adapted from the manga. Accused of murder and thrown into the Pit, a vast dumping ground for a city's discarded people, a young orphan named Rudo, voiced by Aoi Ichikawa, refuses to accept the verdict. He joins a group of monster fighters who wield special powers, and the engine of the series is his drive to uncover the truth behind the frame-up and pursue vengeance against those who condemned him. Each episode mixes grimy survival in the refuse heaps with vivid, kinetic battles against creatures born from the city's waste. Enjin, voiced by Katsuyuki Konishi, and Riyo, voiced by Yumiri Hanamori, anchor the group that Rudo fights beside. The story unfolds as a single continuing arc across its first season of twenty-four episodes, so the viewing experience is serialized rather than episodic. Its tone blends grit and raw emotion with hopeful stubbornness, and its themes of social class, discrimination and self-worth give the spectacle weight. Fans of Attack on Titan, Hunter x Hunter and Made in Abyss will find resonance in its brutal underworld and outcast heroes.
