## Synopsis

Love's Ambition (2025) is a Chinese romance drama series produced for Tencent Video, adapted from a novel and created by Zhang Yueran. Zhao Lusi plays Xu Yan, a renowned news anchor whose polished public image hides a private unease, and William Chan plays Shen Haoming, an urban elite whose world of wealth and social ritual she never fully fits into. Their seemingly perfect courtship begins to fracture when their differing backgrounds collide with the expectations of each other's families and friend circles, and Xu Yan walks away. The engine of the story is Shen Haoming's belated realization of how much he loves her and his determined, often awkward attempts to win her back, while both of them must strip away the facades they have built to protect themselves. Supporting performances from Wan Peng, Guan Zijing and Wang Yiyao widen the drama into sisterhood, friendship and rivalry among the people around them. Told across a single season of thirty-two episodes, the series moves through emotional confrontations, quiet reconciliations and the everyday pressures of modern city life. Its tone is sincere and wistful, with glossy urban settings giving way to intimate scenes of vulnerability. Viewers who enjoy the class-conscious longing of Meteor Garden and the romantic reconciliations of Crash Landing on You will find familiar pleasures here, along with the social observation of Pride and Prejudice.
