## Synopsis

Those Who Lived (2025) is a French national-television historical drama miniseries created by Antoine Lacomblez and Jean-Xavier de Lestrade for France 2. Dramatizing the true story of the November 2015 Bataclan terror attack in Paris, the eight-episode limited series follows seven hostages, including Marie, played by Alix Poisson, and Arnaud, played by Benjamin Lavernhe, alongside Grégory (Antoine Reinartz), Sébastien (Félix Moati), and Caroline (Anne Steffens). Its engine is the slow, uneven work of survival after the concert hall ordeal: sleepless nights, fractured families, and the question of how to live among people who were there when everyone else was not. Episodes move between the night itself and the months and years that follow, building an intimate portrait of trauma and recovery rather than a thriller about the attackers. The tone is somber, humane, and restrained, with an emotional register that rewards patience. Viewers who appreciate grounded docudrama about recent tragedy, in the vein of Chernobyl and 22 July, will find the same careful attention to aftermath and human endurance.
