## Synopsis

Hasta que el dinero nos separe (2009-2010) is a Mexican telenovela created by Fernando Gaitán for UniMás, a remake of the Colombian soap Hasta que la plata nos separe. Its principal cast includes Itatí Cantoral as Alejandra Álvarez del Castillo, Pedro Fernández as Rafael Medina, Víctor Noriega as Marco Valenzuela, and Luz Elena González as Victoria Vicky de la Parra, with Lalo as Vicente Chávez Méndez and Claudia Troyo as Susana Hadad among the wider ensemble. The engine of the show is a web of romantic entanglements in which love and money pull characters in opposite directions, so each chapter turns on a new betrayal, a secret alliance, or a rival's scheme for wealth and status. Stories unfold through familiar telenovela devices of confrontations, mistaken identities, and dramatic reversals that keep the central couples apart and in conflict. The series runs as one long serialized story of 227 hour-long episodes, a single continuous season that unfolds across a year of broadcasts. Its tone is melodramatic, sentimental, and openly theatrical, with heightened emotion and glossy urban settings in contemporary Mexico. Fans of Betty la fea, Rubí, and Dallas will find resonance in its blend of romance, rivalry, and social ambition.
