## Synopsis

Let This Grieving Soul Retire (2024-2025) is a Japanese animated fantasy comedy series produced by Zero-G, GREE Entertainment and avex pictures and aired on TOKYO MX and BS Nippon TV. Adapted from a light novel, the 24-episode run follows Krai Andrey, a treasure hunter who discovers during his first quest that he is not cut out for the job. Despite his limited power, his six childhood friends, who once vowed to become the strongest heroes in the world, insist he lead them. Voiced by Kensho Ono, Krai is joined by party members Tino Shade (Miyu Kubota), Liz Smart (Fairouz Ai) and Sitri Smart (Konomi Kohara), whose capable ambitions keep pushing him toward glory. Each episode is a self-contained adventure built from dungeon crawls, monster hunts, magic battles and the chaos of a party expecting too much. The series carries a breezy, farcical tone, with the comedy coming from the gap between heroic expectation and a protagonist who wants only a quiet, early retirement. Its fantasy world feels warm and playful, with light stakes and a constant current of self-deprecating humor. Fans of KONOSUBA and Log Horizon will find the same mix of adventuring camaraderie and deflated ambition.
