## Synopsis

Romance in the House (2024) is a South Korean family drama created for JTBC, a single-season limited series of twelve hour-long episodes. Ji Jin-hee plays Byeon Mu-jin, a man whose business collapses and who vanishes from his household for eleven years. When he resurfaces as the wealthy landlord of the building where his family now lives, the reunion is anything but tidy. Kim Ji-soo plays Geum Ae-yeon, Son Na-eun plays Byeon Mi-rae, and Minho plays Nam Tae-pyeong, and their relationships tangle around old resentments, money and unspoken hurt. Each episode is built from awkward encounters, household friction and quiet confrontations in a contemporary Korean setting, while the central question of whether the family can rebuild trust drives the season. The tone is warm yet wounded, mixing domestic melodrama with comic embarrassment and tender moments. Viewers who enjoy the emotional intimacy of Korean family television, in the vein of Crash Landing on You and The Heirs, will find familiar pleasures here. The series rewards patience and an appetite for messy, human reconciliations.
