## Synopsis

The Search (2020) is a Mexican true crime miniseries created by Santiago Limón for Netflix. Across six tightly paced episodes of roughly forty-two minutes each, it follows a sprawling investigation into a girl who vanishes from a suburb near Mexico City. Regina Blandón plays Carolina Tello and Dario Yazbek Bernal plays Alberto Bazbaz, two figures whose pursuit of the case is shaped as much by their own professional and political aspirations as by concern for the missing child. Verónica Bravo appears as Lizette Farah, adding to a web of officials, reporters and families whose agendas steer the search off course. The engine of the story is the friction between the urgent need to find a child and the personal goals that muddy every lead, so each episode turns on a new rumor, a press briefing or a shifting alliance. Based on a true story, the miniseries carries a grounded, documentary-like register, with a bitter satirical edge aimed at institutional self-interest and the media machinery that feeds on tragedy. Its tone is tense and somber, and it will appeal to viewers who enjoy Unbelievable, Mare of Easttown and Making a Murderer for their unflinching look at how a real case unravels under pressure.
