## Synopsis

English Teacher (2024-2025) is an American queer workplace sitcom created by Brian Jordan Alvarez for FX. Alvarez stars as Evan Marquez, an English teacher at an Austin, Texas high school, who tries to keep his classroom afloat while the competing demands of students and their parents shift from one day to the next. Stephanie Koenig plays Gwen Sanders, a fellow teacher who becomes an uneasy ally, and Enrico Colantoni plays Principal Grant Moretti, whose administrative pressure keeps the staff off balance. Sean Patton, Carmen Christopher and Trixie Mattel fill out the faculty and community orbit. The engine is simple: each short episode builds around a fresh clash over lesson plans, parental complaints or student social media drama, with Evan's candid, unfiltered attitude pushing every situation further. The run covers two seasons and eighteen half-hour episodes, a single continuing comic world rather than a case-of-the-week format. The tone is brisk, irreverent and sharply observant of generational gaps, with a deadpan edge and warm chaos. Fans of Teachers and Abbott Elementary will find resonance in its workplace ensemble and its affectionate skewering of institutional absurdity.
