## Synopsis

Ranma1/2 (2024-2026) is a Japanese anime romantic comedy series produced by MAPPA and based on the manga, broadcast by Nippon Television Network. Akane Tendo (Noriko Hidaka) meets her new fiancé Ranma Saotome (Kappei Yamaguchi), a martial arts prodigy cursed to transform into a girl whenever he touches cold water. Their arranged engagement sets the engine of the series, with Akane pushed toward a marriage she never wanted while Ranma's curse and rival suitors keep upending the household. Each episode is built from martial arts bouts, slapstick mishaps, and domestic squabbles around the Tendo family, including Kasumi Tendo (Kikuko Inoue) and Soun Tendo (Akio Otsuka), with the rivalry of Tatewaki Kuno (Tomokazu Sugita) adding a recurring comic foil. The series runs a single season of 36 episodes and is still returning. Its tone is brisk, playful, and farcical, with sincere moments of affection beneath the chaos. Fans of Urusei Yatsura, Love Hina, and Dragon Ball Z will find resonance in its shonen energy and romantic comedy tangle, set in a contemporary Japanese neighborhood.
