## Synopsis

The Adventures of Sinbad (1996-1998) is a Canadian television series created by Ed Naha, a sword and sorcery adventure retelling the voyages of Sinbad from The Arabian Nights. Zen Gesner plays the title hero, a seafaring adventurer who leads a crew that includes George Buza as Doubar, Tim Progosh as Firouz, and Oris Erhuero as Rongar, with Jacqueline Collen as Maeve and Mariah Shirley as Bryn joining in the second season. The engine of each episode is a voyage: the crew sails into a new port or strange waters, meets a sorcerer, a monster, or a cursed kingdom, and must fight their way clear with swordplay, cunning, and loyalty to one another. The show runs for two seasons and forty-four episodes, a continuing adventure with a light episodic rhythm where each journey closes while the crew's bonds deepen. Set in a mythic, invented version of the Middle East and its seas, the tone is brisk, colorful, and good-hearted, with a swashbuckling spirit suited to family viewing. Fans of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Xena: Warrior Princess, and Legend will find the same blend of folklore, magic, and rousing fights.
