## Synopsis

Royal Pains (2009-2016) is a US comedy-drama medical series created by Andrew Lenchewski and John Rogers for USA Network. Mark Feuerstein plays Hank Lawson, a wrongly blamed former emergency room doctor who reinvents himself as a reluctant doctor for hire in the Hamptons, making house calls to wealthy vacationers and celebrities. Paulo Costanzo co-stars as his brother Evan, while Jill Flint plays Jill Casey, the attractive hospital administrator who pushes Hank to treat the town's less fortunate. The engine of each episode is simple: a rich patient arrives with an odd complaint, Hank diagnoses it quickly, and he must balance his lucrative client list against a growing sense of obligation to ordinary locals. The show runs for eight seasons and 104 episodes, built around a continuing storyline of career, romance, and loyalty with a case-of-the-week rhythm. It is set in a sun-drenched, seaside Long Island summer world of mansions, marinas, and small-town clinics. Its tone is breezy, warm, and charming, with light romance and gentle humor. Fans of House, Burn Notice, and Psych will find resonance in its mix of medical puzzles and easygoing wit.
