## Synopsis

Terra alta (2025) is a Spanish crime mystery limited series broadcast on Movistar Plus and created by Eligio R. Montero. Built as a single six-episode run of roughly 46 minutes each, it follows an investigation into the murder of two prominent businesspeople in Catalonia, with an ensemble cast led by Miguel Bernardeau and Ivan Massagué, alongside Marta Etura, Bea Segura, Goya Toledo and Francesc Orella. The engine is the slow accumulation of contradictory testimony, hidden money and private shame as the case presses against the powerful families who want it closed. Each episode peels back another layer of the victims' lives, so the mystery unfolds through interviews, suspicion and tense confrontations rather than action set pieces. The tone is sober and atmospheric, with a rain-soaked, quietly foreboding mood in the regional Catalan setting. Fans of The Killing, The Inspector and Gomorrah will find resonance in its procedural patience, moral unease and portrait of institutional compromise. The series is a compact, serialized puzzle that rewards close attention and ends on an open question about what was buried.
