## Synopsis

Yakuza Fiancé: Raise wa Tanin ga Ii (2024) is a Japanese animated romantic crime comedy series created for TOKYO MX and produced by Studio Deen, a single-season run of twelve 24-minute episodes adapted from a seinen manga. Yoshino Somei (voiced by Hitomi Ueda) is the granddaughter of the head of Kansai's largest yakuza group, and her arranged engagement to Kirishima Miyama (voiced by Akira Ishida), grandson of a rival clan leader, is meant to seal a fragile truce. Kirishima seems unexpectedly kind and charming for a gangster, and the series builds its engine on the gap between that warm facade and the dangerous truth beneath it, as Yoshino tries to navigate a marriage negotiated for clan politics. Each episode mixes flirtatious domestic moments with the menace of organized crime, tracing a slow, tender romance that unfolds inside a world of rivalries and loyalties. The tone is gentle and wry, with comedy resting on the awkwardness of an unusual couple, while a darker undercurrent of danger keeps the stakes real. Set in contemporary Kansai, the show appeals to viewers who enjoy the romantic comedy of Kaguya-sama: Love Is War and the underworld intrigue of Tokyo Revengers, and fans of gangster romance will find its mix of affection and menace familiar and engaging throughout its run.
