## Synopsis

Victorinos (2009-2012) is a Spanish-language telenovela created by Miguel Otero Silva for Telemundo, produced in the United States and Colombia. Cast members Mauricio Ochmann, as Victorino Mora Céspedes, and Arap Bethke, as Victorino Gallardo Botero, anchor an ensemble that includes Diana Jaramillo as Fernanda, Carolina Sepulveda as Victorina Salinas, and Roberto Manrique as Victorino Manjarres Martinez. The serial unfolds across a single season of 153 episodes, each roughly forty-two minutes, broadcast as a weekday daily serial over more than twenty-six weeks. Its engine is the tangled romantic and family lives of several characters who share the Victorino name, with rivalries, love affairs and shifting loyalties driving each episode forward. It is a remake of a 1991 Colombian weekly series, itself drawn from a Venezuelan novel, and carries the heightened emotional register, melodrama and sentimentality the telenovela tradition is known for. Set in a contemporary Latin American milieu, the show is a soap opera built for viewers who enjoy long-form family drama. Fans of Betty la Fea, Rosalinda and the original Cuando Quiero Llorar No Lloro will find resonance in its romantic intrigue and domestic melodrama.
