## Synopsis

Shekhar Home (2024) is a six-episode Indian crime comedy series created by Srijit Mukherji and Aniruddha Guha, produced with BBC Studios India and aired on JioCinema. Kay Kay Menon plays eccentric Shekhar Home, whose quiet routine is disrupted when his new housemate Jayavrat, played by Ranvir Shorey, joins him in solving a variety of cases. Their partnership gives the show its engine: each mystery arrives in its own self-contained storyline, and the two men must read people, follow small clues, and keep their household running at the same time. Rasika Dugal, Shernaz Patel, Rudranil Ghosh and Kirti Kulhari fill out a vibrant supporting cast of neighbours and acquaintances who drift in and out of the investigations. Set in 1990s Lonpur, Bengal, the series luxuriates in a charming pre-technology atmosphere where detective work depends on conversation, memory, and legwork rather than phones or databases. The tone is breezy and warm, balancing suspense with gentle humour. Fans of Monk, Psych and Sherlock will find resonance in its quirky sleuthing duo and case of the week rhythm. This is a compact, self-contained limited series, a single season of six episodes that rewards viewers who enjoy witty, character-led mysteries.
