## Synopsis

Football Parents (2025) is a Dutch comedy series created by Albert Jan van Rees for Netflix. Its ensemble centers on a group of parents whose children play amateur football, and the engine of the show is their shameless, overinvested devotion to those youth careers. Principal characters include Marenka, played by Ilse Warringa, Lillian, played by Eva van Gessel, and Coach Jacco, played by Bas Hoeflaak, alongside Trainer Yusuf, played by Gürkan Küçüksentürk. Each of its six short episodes of roughly half an hour follows the group through clashes over training, matches, and the sidelines, with awkward social situations escalating into farce. The show runs as a single compact season and is set in the present day Netherlands, in the ordinary world of local football clubs. Its tone is breezy and cringe-tinged, with a warm undercurrent of team spirit beneath the embarrassment. Fans of Parks and Recreation and Ted Lasso will find resonance in its ensemble of overly committed community figures and its mix of satire and affection.
