## Synopsis

Mid-Century Modern is an American gay comedy sitcom created by David Kohan and Max Mutchnick for Hulu, running for a single ten-episode season. Set in Palm Springs, it follows Jerry Frank, a wealthy man whose domestic life grows complicated when his mother moves in, and whose two best friends of a certain age, Bunny and Arthur, become part of his household. After an unexpected death prompts the three to spend their golden years together, the show's engine is the friction of forming a home: old rivalries, vanity, the small indignities of aging, and the question of what family means when it is chosen rather than inherited. Each short episode is built around everyday domestic situations and sharp banter in a sun-drenched desert setting. The tone is witty, warm and campy, with a sly satirical edge toward cosmetic procedures and status anxiety. Viewers who enjoy Will & Grace, The Golden Girls or Queer as Folk will find resonance in its mix of queer comedy, mature characters and chosen-family sentiment. Its single season offers a compact, self-contained taste of late-life companionship.
