## Synopsis

My Two Dads (1987-1990) is a American network family sitcom created by Michael Jacobs and Danielle Alexandra for NBC. Paul Reiser plays Michael Taylor and Greg Evigan plays Joey Harris, two men who once fought over the same woman and now find themselves jointly awarded custody of her young daughter Nicole, played by Staci Keanan, who may be the child of either. Rather than settle the question with a paternity test, the two men move into one house and try to run a two-dad family under the watchful eye of a family court judge, played by Florence Stanley. The engine of each episode is the everyday friction of two bachelors learning to handle school routines, dating, household chores, and a growing girl's demands, with Giovanni Ribisi and Chad Allen adding supporting roles in the wider cast. Across three seasons and sixty half-hour episodes, the show runs as a warm, light case-of-the-week style comedy rather than a serialized drama. It is set in the late 1980s, a present-day American milieu, and its tone is breezy, gently sentimental and comforting. Fans of Full House, Growing Pains and Three's Company will find resonance in its domestic comedy and its blended household of unlikely caregivers.
