## Synopsis

Outrageous (2025) is a British period drama miniseries created by Sarah Williams for U&Drama. Dramatizing the lives of the six Mitford sisters, the series follows Nancy Mitford (Bessie Carter), Jessica Mitford (Zoe Brough), Diana Mitford (Joanna Vanderham) and Pamela Mitford (Isobel Jesper Jones) as they refuse to play by the rules of their aristocratic world. Their engine is a push and pull between personal ambition, romantic entanglement and the expectations of class, with each episode tracking the sisters' choices as their private lives spill into the newspapers. Oswald Mosley (Joshua Sasse) and Peter Rodd (Jamie Blackley) bring political and romantic pressure into the family orbit, while James Purefoy plays David Freeman-Mitford. Told across six one-hour episodes, the story unfolds as a single continuing arc set in 1930s England, moving from country houses to London society. The tone is lush yet sharp, mixing glamour with heartache, betrayal and the quiet cost of scandal. Fans of The Crown, Downton Abbey and The Favourite will find resonance in its portrait of privileged women tested by history and their own defiance.
