## Synopsis

Wandance (2025) is a Japanese animated drama series adapted from a manga and produced by Madhouse, with Kodansha and TV Asahi among its backers, and it runs as a single twelve-episode season of about twenty-three minutes each. It follows Kabo (voiced by Koki Uchiyama), a high school student with a stutter who struggles to put his feelings into words. He is drawn to his classmate Wanda (voiced by Hina Youmiya), who pursues dance without caring how others judge her, and her example pulls him into the unfamiliar world of freestyle dance. Supporting characters, including On Miyao (voiced by Ayaka Suwa) and Gaku Kabeya (voiced by Yuma Uchida), fill out the school and dance circles that Kabo gradually enters. Each episode tracks small steps in practice, self-doubt, and the slow building of confidence, with the body becoming the means of speech he lacks. The mood is tender, earnest and quietly hopeful, with a coming of age romance running beneath the training. Set in a contemporary Japanese high school, it has the warmth and personal focus of a school based drama. Fans of Blue Giant, Haikyu!! and Your Lie in April will find resonance in its portrait of youthful striving and creative release.
