## Synopsis

The Assassin (2025-present) is a British thriller series created by Jack Williams and Harry Williams for Prime Video. Keeley Hawes plays Julie Green, a retired assassin hiding on a remote Greek island, and Freddie Highmore plays her estranged son Edward, who arrives from England carrying questions about his paternity and struggles to find the right moment to confront his guarded mother. Their uneasy reunion is the quiet opening of a story that quickly becomes a dangerous chase, as Julie's violent past closes in and the two are forced to flee together and stay one step ahead of pursuers. The engine is the push and pull between a parent who cannot stop running and a son who wants the truth, with each episode layering secrets and conspiracy over a tense bond. Shown across a single season of twelve episodes, the series moves at a brisk, propulsive pace with a bleak, paranoid edge balanced by moments of raw emotion. Its European-produced look and sun-bleached Mediterranean backdrop give way to hunted urban and rural routes, and fans of Killing Eve, Hunted and Nikita will find resonance in its blend of espionage, lethal skill and fractured family loyalty.
