## Synopsis

The Chair Company (2025) is an American dark comedy mystery series created by Tim Robinson and Zach Kanin for HBO. Tim Robinson plays William Ronald Trosper, a suburban family man whose embarrassing incident at work sends him hyper-fixating on what seems like an innocuous event. As he digs deeper, he uncovers a far-reaching conspiracy that grows stranger with every step. Lake Bell plays his wife Barb Trosper, while Sophia Lillis plays their daughter Natalie, and their scenes ground the escalating chaos in a recognizable domestic life. The engine of the show is Ron's refusal to let humiliation go, and each episode of this eight-episode season follows his increasingly unhinged pursuit of answers across ordinary American suburbs and offices. The series moves between sharp, cringe-driven awkwardness and sudden moments of sincerity, so laughs often land right after a tender beat. Its tone is dark, weird, and absurd, with a paranoid undercurrent that gives the comedy real unease. Fans of Twin Peaks, Detectorists and Undone will find resonance in its blend of surreal mystery and deeply personal unraveling. The show runs about thirty-one minutes per episode and is currently in its first season.
