## Synopsis

LazyTown (2004-2014) is an Icelandic-American children's television series created by Magnús Scheving for Nick Jr. Set in a bright, cartoonish village, the show follows Stephanie, a cheerful newcomer who moves in with her uncle, the mayor, and tries to convince the town's extremely idle residents that exercise and healthy food are fun. Her main ally is the athletic hero Sportacus (played by Magnús Scheving), who is always ready with a flip or a challenge, while the scheming Robbie Rotten (Stefán Karl Stefánsson) works to keep everyone on the couch. Ziggy, Trixie and Stingy add puppet-driven slapstick and mischief. Each short episode is built from a simple goal, a rival's scheme, and a musical number or game that turns movement into play. The series runs four seasons and seventy-eight episodes in a gentle, sunny, playful register, with catchy songs and bold colors throughout. Fans of Sesame Street, Bluey and The Wiggles will find the same warm, educational energy, aimed squarely at preschool viewers and their families.
