## Synopsis

As You Stood By (2025) is a South Korean crime thriller miniseries created by Lee Jeong-lim for Netflix. Jeon So-nee plays Jo Eun-su and Lee You-mi plays Jo Hui-su, two women who plot to end their abusive marriages through murder. Their carefully laid scheme is threatened when an unexpected visitor arrives, played by Jang Seung-jo as Noh Jin-pyo, and the pressure tightens as secrets and loyalties begin to fray. Lee Mu-saeng as Chen Shaobo and Lee Hyun-jun as Cho Eun-hyuk round out the principal cast. The engine of the story is a fragile conspiracy that must survive scrutiny from people who might expose it, while each episode layers new domestic cruelty and moral compromise onto the central pact. Across eight episodes of roughly an hour each, the miniseries builds a tight, bitter tension in which every choice carries cost. Set in contemporary South Korea, it is a sharply observed portrait of ordinary homes and the violence hidden behind them. Its tone is grim, tense and emotionally raw, with a thriller's propulsive pacing. Fans of Big Little Lies and Mr. Sunshine will find resonance in its women-driven moral stakes and its slow-burning Korean crime atmosphere.
