## Synopsis

Robin Hood (2025) is a US period adventure series created by Jonathan English and John Glenn for MGM+. This modern reimagining of the classic English legend follows Rob, a Saxon forester's son played by Jack Patten, and Marian, a Norman lord's daughter played by Lauren McQueen, whose romance crosses the bitter line between conquered and conqueror. Their goal is to challenge corruption and restore a measure of justice to the land, and the pressure comes from the ruling Norman nobility, including Sean Bean as the Sheriff of Nottingham and Connie Nielsen as Eleanor of Aquitaine. The first season runs ten hour-long episodes, built around the outlaw band forming in the forest and the schemes of the powerful to crush it. The show is set in eleventh century England shortly after the Norman invasion, with castles, forests, and muddy village life providing the backdrop. Its tone is cheerful and adventurous, with action and romance carrying the story, and its approach to the legend recalls the swashbuckling energy of earlier Robin Hood films and the political intrigue of The Last Kingdom. Fans of The Last Kingdom and Poldark will find resonance in its blend of medieval conflict and romantic tension, while audiences who enjoy outlaw adventures will find a familiar but refreshed take on a beloved story.
