## Synopsis

The Beginning After the End (2025-2026) is a Japanese anime isekai series produced by Studio A-CAT and Slow Curve and aired on AT-X across two seasons and twenty-four episodes. Its protagonist is King Grey, a conqueror who dies under mysterious circumstances and is reborn as the infant Arthur Leywin (voiced by Natsumi Fujiwara) on the magical continent of Dicathen. Makoto Furukawa voices Grey, whose adult wisdom lingers inside a growing child's body. Arthur's family, including his brother Reynolds Leywin (Yamato Kinjo) and sister Alice Leywin (Rena Maeda), anchors the story as he grows. The engine of the series is Arthur's determination to master magic and forge a new path while correcting the errors of his former life, with each season built from training, rising threats to his home, and battles fought with swords and spells. Set in a high fantasy realm of magic lineages and elven peoples, the show carries a playful, adventurous tone shaded with reflective moments of reckoning. Its audience ratings averaged a modest 6.0 out of 10 across both seasons. Fans of Re:Zero, Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation and Overlord will find familiar pleasures in its reincarnation premise, sword and sorcery spectacle and isekai framing.
