## Synopsis

City of Shadows (2025) is a Spanish crime thriller series created for Netflix, a six-episode limited series with a single season of forty-eight-minute episodes. Suspended Mossos d'Esquadra inspector Milo Malart (Isak Ferriz), previously removed for misconduct, returns to Barcelona to hunt the person responsible for a gruesome killing, a burned body discovered on the facade of Gaudi's Casa Mila. He works alongside Sub-Inspector Rebeca Garrido (Veronica Echegui), a determined partner who keeps pace with his instincts, while the investigation draws in suspects and figures from his own unsettled past. The engine of the show is the methodical grind of interviews, evidence and dead ends, each episode tightening the net around a killer who seems to be sending a message to the city. Set in present-day Barcelona, the series moves through the city's streets, apartments and the famous modernist landmark that becomes the stage for the crime. Its tone is tense and brooding, with a noir-tinged atmosphere and a steady, unsettling dread. Fans of The Killing, The Bridge and Mare of Easttown will find resonance in its procedural rigor and its troubled detective at the center of a case that refuses to stay contained.
