## Synopsis

The Yogurt Shop Murders (2025-2025) is an American true crime miniseries for HBO, a five-episode documentary limited series that revisits the 1991 slaying of four teenage girls at a frozen yogurt shop in Austin, Texas. Rather than dramatizing the night, it assembles testimony from the people still living with the case: Austin filmmaker Claire Huie, lead investigator John Jones, homicide investigator Mike Huckabay, yogurt shop manager Reese Price, and the families of the victims, including Sonora Thomas, Bob Ayers and Pam Ayers. The engine of the series is the stubborn question of who killed these girls, pursued through interviews, archival material and the slow accumulation of contradictory accounts. Each episode moves through the investigation's dead ends and the community's lingering grief. The tone is sober, haunting and intimate, with an atmosphere of unresolved loss rather than sensational spectacle. Set in 1991 Austin, the series sits in the lineage of The Staircase, Making a Murderer and The Jinx, and fans of those cold case documentaries will find the same mix of procedural detail and personal anguish. Its unsolved core makes it a contemplative, disquieting watch for viewers drawn to the true crime genre.
