## Synopsis

So Weird (1999-2001) is an American family mystery series created by Tom J. Astle for Disney Channel. Fourteen-year-old Fi Phillips (Cara DeLizia) investigates paranormal phenomena while touring the country in a bus with her widowed rock-star mother Molly Phillips (Mackenzie Phillips) and her skeptical brother Jack Phillips (Patrick Levis). Each episode is a case of the week in which Fi hunts for the truth behind strange occurrences, with the family's road-trip life supplying constant new locations and encounters. In the third season, the case cracking role passes to a songbird named Annie Thelen (Alexz Johnson), shifting the dynamic while keeping the investigative format intact. The show runs three seasons and sixty-five episodes, with a playful, surreal, and joyful register that blends dark fantasy imagery with lighthearted family humor. Its episodic structure and youthful sensibility make it a comfortable pick for viewers who enjoy the kid-friendly paranormal sleuthing of Eerie, Indiana and Are You Afraid of the Dark?, and fans of the gentler supernatural comedy of Sabrina the Teenage Witch will find similar warmth.
