## Synopsis

Beyond the Bar (2025) is a South Korean legal drama miniseries created by Kim Jae-hong for JTBC. Across a single twelve-episode season, the story follows a young rookie lawyer with a strong sense of justice who joins a top law firm and must navigate its complex legal world under a cold, demanding mentor. Lee Jin-uk plays Yoon Suk-hoon, and Jung Chae-yeon plays Kang Hyo-min, with Lee Hak-ju as Lee Jin-woo and Jeon Hye-bin as Hyo Min-jung in the supporting ensemble. The engine of the series is the friction between a newcomer's principles and the pressure of corporate litigation, with each episode built around cases, negotiations and the shifting loyalties inside an elite firm. Its calm, measured pace and informative approach give it a sober, serious register, closer to a workplace drama than a courtroom spectacle. Set in contemporary Seoul, it draws on the Korean legal profession's hierarchy and ambition. Fans of Suits, Live and Better Call Saul will find resonance in its polished professional world and its ethical tension between ambition and conscience.
