## Synopsis

Absolute Boyfriend (2008) is a Japanese romantic comedy series created by Takuya Kanai for Fuji TV, a single-season run of eleven 45-minute episodes adapted from a manga. Temp worker Riko Izawa (Saki Aibu) is chosen to trial Tenjo Night (Mokomichi Hayami), a humanoid robot built by the firm Kronos Heaven and programmed for total devotion to his lover. She begins by treating him like a household appliance, but as his unwavering loyalty becomes impossible to ignore she starts to fall for him, complicating matters with Asamoto Soshi (Hiro Mizushima), a distinguished young executive at her company who has feelings for her too. Each episode is built from small workplace frictions, awkward cohabitation and escalating romantic rivalry, with the comic engine coming from the gap between Night's flawless devotion and Riko's flustered resistance. The tone is light, sweet and breezy, with a glossy modern Tokyo office setting. Fans of Her, Kare Kano and Itazura na Kiss will find the same mix of romantic tension and playful absurdity.
