## Synopsis

Star Trek (1973-1974) is a US animated science fiction series created by Gene Roddenberry for NBC. It continues the voyages of the Starship Enterprise, with Captain James T. Kirk, First Officer Spock and Doctor Leonard McCoy returning to the bridge in cartoon form. Voiced by the original cast, including George Takei, Nichelle Nichols and James Doohan, the crew travels through deep space encountering alien civilizations, strange phenomena and diplomatic dilemmas. Each short episode is self-contained, built around a new planet or problem solved through curiosity, logic and compassion. The show is a family-friendly space opera with a gentle, hopeful and wholesome register. Its look is deliberately limited, with slow, stiff animation that resembles a still painting with an audio track. Set in an unspecified future, it carries the optimistic exploratory spirit of the live-action original. Only two seasons were produced, so the series ends abruptly, leaving its voyages unfinished but warmly remembered.
