## Synopsis

Rulers of Fortune (2025) is a Brazilian crime drama series created by Heitor Dhalia for Netflix, presented as a single-season limited run of eight episodes of roughly fifty-six minutes each. Young aspirant Profeta Moraes (André Lamoglia) wants a place in the upper ranks of Rio de Janeiro's gambling underworld, and every step up exposes him to rivals, favors owed and the dangerous game of betrayal that surrounds it. Around him, Xamã as Búfalo, Juliana Paes as Leila, Mel Maia as Mirna and Chico Diaz as Galego pull him deeper into a web of loyalty and temptation. Each episode tightens the grip of ambition, with lust, double-crosses and sudden violence shaping a story that unfolds as one continuous arc. The mood is tense, gritty and morally corrosive, with a pulse of noir-tinged menace running through the city's back rooms and casinos. Fans of Narcos, Gomorra and Breaking Bad will find resonance in its portrait of ambition, criminal hierarchy and the price of rising too fast.
