## Synopsis

A Star Brighter than the Sun (2025) is a Japanese animated shoujo romance series created for MBS and TBS, adapted from a manga and produced by Studio KAI. Sae Iwata, a slightly tougher-than-average girl, has carried a first love for Koki Kamishiro since their days together in elementary school, and that crush sits quietly beneath her confident exterior. Koki has grown into a charming, popular teen who now feels out of reach, and the story follows the awkward closeness that returns once the two are assigned to the sports festival committee together. The engine of the series is everyday school life: committee meetings, classroom banter, and the small hesitations that make a long-held feeling hard to name aloud. Hisui Onodera, Yota Ayukawa and Mio Kagawa, voiced by Hina Youmiya, Taito Ban and Mutsumi Tamura, round out the circle of friends whose lively interactions give the story its warmth. The series is a single season of twelve twenty-four-minute episodes, a slice of life drama that stays light and playful even as it lingers on sincere feeling. Its tone is gentle and hopeful, with comedic beats that never undercut the nostalgia of a first love. Fans of Horimiya, Kaguya-sama: Love Is War and Your Lie in April will find resonance here.
