## Synopsis

The Survivors is an Australian limited series adapted from Jane Harper's novel, following a sleepy seaside town whose calm surface hides old grief. A fresh mysterious death forces a close-knit community to revisit a tragedy fifteen years earlier, when three young people were lost. Detective Sue Pendlebury leads the present-day inquiry while the earlier loss resurfaces through memory, interviews and private guilt. Families, friendships and loyalties fracture as each household is shown to hold a piece of the truth. Across its episodes the series moves between the present investigation and the past, building a patient, serialized mystery in which every revelation deepens unease. The tone is brooding and melancholic, with coastal atmosphere and lingering grief shaping every scene. Viewers who enjoy small community dread and slow excavation of a town's secrets will find much to appreciate in its restrained, emotionally heavy storytelling.
