## Synopsis

Boston Blue (2025-present) is an American network crime drama series created by Brandon Margolis and Brandon Sonnier for CBS, and a spin-off of the New York police franchise. Donnie Wahlberg plays NYPD detective Danny Reagan, who transfers to the Boston Police Department and is paired with Detective Lena Silver, played by Sonequa Martin-Green, a member of a powerful local law enforcement family. The family includes District Attorney Mae Silver, played by Gloria Reuben, Police Superintendent Sarah Silver, played by Maggie Lawson, rookie cop Jonah Silver, played by Marcus Scribner, and Reverend Edwin Peters, played by Ernie Hudson. Reagan's private engine is a wish to rebuild his relationship with his son Sean, played by Mika Amonsen, while each episode delivers a self-contained investigation in the streets and courtrooms of the city. The show runs as a case-of-the-week procedural across two seasons and twenty-six episodes so far, with tension resting on institutional pressure and family loyalty. Its tone is earnest and conventional, with a sober, grounded register and the familiar rhythms of network policing. Fans of Blue Bloods, Chicago P.D. and Law & Order will find the same mix of procedural cases, family politics and civic duty here.
