## Synopsis

Ninja vs. Gokudo (2025) is a Japanese animated action comedy series produced by Studio Deen and Good Smile Film, broadcast on Nippon Television Network. The series follows Shinoha Tanaka (voiced by Chiaki Kobayashi), a ninja sworn to banish evil from the shadows, and Kiwami Kimura (voiced by Katsuyuki Konishi), a gokudo who looks like an ordinary businessman. Neither knows the other's true identity at first, so they bond over a shared love of anime even as the centuries-old grudge between their two worlds is rekindled in the present day. The engine of the story is that divided loyalty: each episode tangles their personal friendship with escalating clashes, gang crimes, and ambushes as the war between ninja and gokudo intensifies. Across a single twelve-episode season of roughly 23 minutes each, the show balances brisk action with irreverent humor and moments of genuine sentiment about lonely outcasts drawn to the underworld. The tone mixes breezy comedy with bloody confrontations and a melancholy undercurrent about belonging. Fans of Blood Blockade Battlefront and Yakuza Apocalypse will find resonance in its blend of gangster menace, supernatural action and offbeat character comedy, all rendered in a stylish modern Japanese anime setting.
