## Synopsis

The Forsytes (2025-present) is a British period drama series adapted from the novel-based Forsyte chronicles, created for television and produced by Mammoth Screen. Following four generations of a wealthy London family of stockbrokers, the story centres on family patriarch James Forsyte (Jack Davenport) and his kin, with Ann Forsyte (Francesca Annis) at the heart of the household. Philip Bosinney (Jamie Flatters), Monty Dartie (Tom Durant-Pritchard) and Irene (Millie Gibson) bring romance, rivalry and social friction into the family's orbit. Each episode is built from marriages arranged and broken, property disputes, investments that rise and fall, and quiet battles over who holds the family's money and reputation. The series runs as a continuing multi-season saga, with its episodes carrying one unbroken story across generations. Set in late Victorian London, it captures a city where old wealth meets new industry and rising ambition. Its tone is elegant, sober and melancholic, with moments of sharp irony about class and hypocrisy. Fans of Downton Abbey and the 2002 adaptation The Forsyte Saga will find familiar pleasures in its drawing rooms, its dynastic tensions and its careful study of inherited privilege.
