## Synopsis

The Banished Court Magician Aims to Become the Strongest (2025) is a Japanese animated fantasy series adapted from a light novel and manga and produced by GEKKOU Production and Kodansha, with Crunchyroll distribution and a broadcast run across many TV Asahi affiliate stations. Alec Ygret, voiced by Shuichiro Umeda, is a former royal court magician who spent his career supporting the crown prince from behind the scenes, until he is cast aside and exiled for knowing only support magic. At rock bottom he reunites with Yorha Eisentz (Yurika Kubo), a former comrade from the legendary adventuring party Lasting Period, and is invited back into the team. The engine of the series is Alec's effort to prove that support magic is not weakness, carried out through dungeon expeditions, party tactics and fights in which his unglamorous spells make the difference. Clasia Annerose (Masumi Tazawa) and Ornest Rain (Masaaki Mizunaka) round out the party. Told in a single twelve-episode season of roughly 23-minute episodes, it plays as a light, upbeat sword and sorcery adventure with a warm, underdog sensibility. Fans of Re:Zero, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? and The Rising of the Shield Hero will find resonance in its blend of fantasy adventure and an overlooked hero finding his place.
